New Holland CR10.90 Combine Guinness World records Attempt
For harvesting the most wheat in eight hours, New Holland’s CR10.90 Elevation combine to set a Guinness World Record. With the most potent combination in the world—the 653 horsepower CR10.90 Elevation—New Holland Agriculture has recaptured the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title, harvesting an astonishing 797.656 tonnes of wheat in eight hours. At H.R. Bourne and Sons Farm in Grange de Lings, ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to Wragby, Lincolnshire, Uɴɪᴛᴇᴅ Kɪɴɢᴅᴏᴍ, on August 15, 2014, the record was set.
The record-breaking harvesting day, which began at 11:17 am, was marked by shifting weather, with a constant temperature of 64 to 70 F and light rains beginning at 5:30 pm. In a crop yielding an average of 9.95 tonnes/ha and an average moisture content of 16.2 percent, the CR10.90’s throughput averaged 99.7 tonnes/hour and peaked at 135 tonnes/hour. With the straw cutter running continuously throughout the day, the record was set using just 1 liter of fuel for every tonne of grain gathered.
The world-record-breaking CR10.90 Elevation is outfitted with New Holland’s exclusive Twin Rotor technology, which combines Twin Pitch High-Performance rotors with the Dynamic Feed Roll system (DFR). This technology was crucial to breaking the record, especially as the weather started to turn in the late afternoon.
The continuously filling grain tank was easily handled by the extra-long 10-meter emptying auger and lightning-fast 142 liters/minute unloading speed. The 13.7 meters 840CD dʀᴀᴘᴇr header was optimized for efficiency on the CR10.90 thanks to IntelliSteer’s completely integrated auto-guidance, which assures accuracy of 1-2 cm throughout the day. We continuously work to improve our brand’s performance and outcomes in the combined business while providing our clients with the best solutions available.
